THE MAY EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED AND IS BEING RESCHEDULED FOR 6-21-2012 Please note the new starting time
FOSPA JUNE
MEETING 6-21-2012
JOIN US TO TOUR THE ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY COLLEGE-Wildwood CAMPUS
Which Ranks Among Area’s Highest LEED-Certified Buildings.
Meet in the main lobby at 5:30 P.M.
Building Highlights The
"green" roof at STLCC-Wildwood reduces the heat
island effect as it quietly keeps water out of the
building, thereby saving energy, holding rain water
from the storm sewers, and helping to provide a
beautiful view inside to the outside and surrounding
areas
The roof is just one in the total group of components that ranks it as one of the highest-rated LEED-certified buildings in the St. Louis area. In fact, in a May 2011 list compiled and published by the St. Louis Business Journal, the Wildwood campus tied for fifth
in a listing of the area’s 25 highest
LEED-certified buildings.
Other features include
daylight-harvesting lighting and ceiling fans. The
building’s lighting system automatically balances to
accommodate variations in natural light. Rooms have T-shaped windows to
allow more natural light in, as well as light
shelves to reflect light further into the room. The building is 30 percent more energy efficient than a typical code-compliant building of its size.
The building was constructed with extensive use of recycled materials in structural and finish components as well as furniture. A water savings of more than 30 percent is anticipated by using low volume restroom fixtures, waterless urinals, and rainwater collection and storage. Then head over to Big
Bear Grill for our business
meeting and fellowship at 16524 Manchester Rd.,
Grover, MO 63040
Note:
In order for FOSPA to supply ample food and drink, please RSVP for each person in your organization attending. Thanks!
